After rewarding ceremony of the 14th FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup,the press conference was held at 6:00 p.m.Gianni Lonzi,chairman of Technical Water Polo Committee;Li Weibo, Vice President of China Swimming Association;Head Coach of Australia and Head Coach of Italy attended the press conference.
Lonzi and two head coaches all gave a highly appreciation of the Organizing Committee. They considered that the 14th FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup was held successfully.They said，"Thanks for all the peoplefor organizing such a great sport event."And they are sure that the 2008 Olmpic Games can be held successfully as well.
McFadden, head coach of Astralia, praised his team. He said,"From being ranked No 6 last year it is a huge step forward and head a lot of pressure on the girls now.I don’t think we will be favourite because there are six or seven teams capable of winning on the day. We are never giving up in the match.Our players created more chances that Italy.At last we won the game.After Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, some experienced player retired. So we did not very well in ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games. Byt now the young players improved fast by taking part in more matches.We hope that we will be more excellent in Beijing 2008 Olympic Games."
Maugeri, Head Coach of Italy said,"it was a very difficult match. Today Australia did better than us.The year of 2008, Olympic Games will be held in Beijing. At that time, i hope that we can give a better performance."
As for Chinese Team, Lonzi said that they improved quickly than a year and half before when i watched chinese girls' performance.The fast improvement of Chinese team attributed to all the Chinese people who are working for and supporting for the Chinese Women's Water Polo.He believed that in Beijing 2008 Olympic games, China will do more excellent.
