The 9^th National Universiade is the first large-scale comprehensive sport event hosted by Tianjin, with in total 18 venues used in the games. 9 out of the 18 venues will be used in the East Asian Games.

　　The 6^th East Asian Games have 24 sports and 289 events. With far more events than the 9^th National Universiade, venues have to face higher demands. The 24 sports in the East Asian Games will be allocated in 24 venues, among which 13 are newly-built venues, 9 are existing venues and 2 are temporary venues. The journalist is told that all newly-built and refurbished venues, except the temporary ones, will be finished before May 2013.
