In the evening of October 6, the 6^th EAG opening ceremony was held in Tianjin Sports Stadium. The ceremony, integrating the sportsmanship and Tianjin local elements, was splendid and decent. The one-hour ceremony, short but not simple, was full of vitality. It underlined the thinking of “Running Games Economically”, the theme of “Peace, Friendship, Harmony and Development”, the happy times and glamour of Pretty Tianjin.

Following the guidelines of running games economically, the opening ceremony was strictly kept under scale. Discarding extravagances and large-scale photo-electrical equipment, Tianjin, the host city, added more humanitarian and eco-friendliness to the opening ceremony. The ceremony, short but no simple, encompassed Peking Opera, traditional martial arts, Tianjin Allegro, Yang Liu Qing Spring Festival Paintings, and other traditional elements, all making it full of Tianjin local elements and Chinese distinctiveness.

It’s learned that 1500 performers rolled out the opening ceremony. They were all from universities, colleges or specialized performance groups in Tianjin, of whom, 120 are working staff, 260 are specialized and outstanding young or middle-aged performers, and the remaining 1120 are college and middle schools students as well as citizens.
