The 6th EAG was unveiled in Tianjin in the evening of October 6. As the last games in its history, the East Asian Games will last for 10 days with some 2000 athletes from 9 countries or regions competing for 254 golden medals.

The Chinese delegation is made up by 752 people, of whom, 516 are players competing in all the 247 events (24 categories). 59 athletes have taken part in the Olympics, and 121 in Asian Games. The Chinese delegation, including the Olympics champions, Ye Shiwen, Jiao Liuyang, Pang Wei and the sprinter Zhang Peimeng, is surely the attention-catcher.

It’s also noted that cost of this Games is cut down by nearly twenty percent compared with last Games held in Hong Kong. To implement the thinking of running games economically, the venue for the opening ceremony was also relocated from Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium to Tianjin Stadium.

The opening ceremony, taking in various local elements of Tianjin, had many spotlights. The Chapter, with the theme of Tianjin Yang Liu Qing Spring Festival Painting, feasted us with a poetic and elegant visual effect.
